Thomas LeRoy Nielsen age 93 of Andover, MN went to be with Jesus on May 9, 2024. He was born on April 1, 1930 in Waupaca, WI to Severt and Nellie Nielsen. He grew up in Wisconsin and met the love of his life after moving to California. Thomas married Pauline on June 20, 1958. They raised two children, Paul Thomas and Mark Richard. The moved back to the Midwest (MN) when Mark (and Pam) started a family in 1991.

Thomas was 1 of 13 children and he graduated from Illinois Tech College in Mechanical Engineering. He enlisted in the Army in the early 1950's and then met Pauline on Valentines day in 1958 and they were married on June 20, 1958 and had 2 children. He was passionate about his work, family and friends. He enjoyed volunteering with the Hard Hats at his church, Our Saviors Lutheran Church in East Bethel.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline; siblings, Jim, Fred, Everette, Cora, Nora, Kenny, Lucy, Eugene, LaVerne, Wanda, Richard. Survived by his sons, Paul Thomas and Mark Richard (Pam); grandchildren, Joshua Abraham (Emily), Danielle Nicole (Jesse Trowbridge), Benjamin Peter (Taylor), and Samiel David (Sarah); great-grandchildren, Theodore Jesse Trowbridge, Logan Jesse Trowbridge, Esther Jean Trowbridge, Lillian Noelle Nielsen, Matthias Thomas Nielsen and two more on the way; sister, Patti (Steve) Luft.

On Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 12:00 PM a visitation will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 19001 Jackson Street NE, East Bethel 55011. Funeral will follow at 1:00 PM, with a luncheon and burial following the service.
