Madisyn Alon Mevissen, age 11, of Andover, Minn., gained her angel wings on Dec. 20, 2019, and is now running free of Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

Madisyn was born April 17, 2008, to parents Jason and Jamie (Hollister) Mevissen. Madisyn was truly amazing and our "Never Give Up" girl. She took each challenge as it was presented. Madisyn loved technology, animals and teaching others. We are very blessed to have Madisyn with us longer than expected. Madisyn was a true fighter from birth. If you could only see the world with half the vision of Madisyn there would be more vividness than you could ever imagine.

Madisyn is survived by her parents, Jason and Jamie; her paternal grandparents, Mike and Debora (Waldron) Mevissen; maternal grandparents, Mike and Tammy (Olson) Hollister; great grandparents,  Gordy and Delores (Mevissen) Rootes, Marilyn Waldron, Colleen Johnson, Sharon Hei, Gary and Sharon Olson, and Wanda Hollister; aunts and uncle, Jennifer (Katie) Hiltz; Nick Hollister; Anna Hollister; and Jennifer (Rich) Farchione; cousins, Abby, Ally, Bailey, Rowen, Emilia, Ava, and Isla; and her beloved dogs, Rollie and Oreo.

Funeral services will take place at Thurston-Lindberg-Deshaw Funeral Home in Anoka, Minn., on Friday, Dec. 27 at 1 p.m. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions are being accepted.  A Reception will follow the service at the Anoka Masonic Lodge located at 1908 3rd Ave, Anoka, MN 55303.
