William L. "Bill" Ward, age 89 of Anoka, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at The Homestead of Anoka.

Bill was a United States Army Veteran.

In addition to his parents, William (Leo) L. and Catherine A. Ward (Coleman), Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, Monsignor John Ward, Charles and Edward; sisters, Julia Hudek (Ward) and Mary Kathleen Mitchell (Ward).  He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Marlene (Guimont); children, Steven (Jean), Debra Hambleton (Mike), and John (Michele); grandchildren, Katherine Black (Kevin), Brian Ward, Seth, Megan, and Jennifer Hambleton, Michaela, Abigail, Conor, and Colin Ward; great-grandson, Luke Black; sister-in-law, Bernice Ward (Charles); also many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 28 , 2018 at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 525 Jackson Street, Anoka.  Visitation one hour prior to Mass at church (10:00 - 11:00 a.m.)  Interment with Full Military Honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Anoka.
