IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wayne Douglas
Austreng
August 7, 1937 – February 23, 2020
Wayne D. Austreng, age 82 of Coon Rapids, entered his eternal glory on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.
An international business executive, an outdoorsman, an athlete, a hunter, a fisher, a warrior for Christ, Wayne celebrated the Creator God's craftsmanship and praised the living Lord God Almighty all the days of his life. Eager to introduce others to their Savior Jesus Christ, Wayne devoted himself to teaching, preaching, praying and proclaiming the gospel. His evangelism extended around the country and to the far corners of the world as he worked and played, lived, loved and led people of all ages to the Lord. "And Jesus said unto them, 'Come ye after me and I will make you to become fishers of men.'" (Mark 1.17).
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Reuben Austreng; mother, Margaretta (Downey) Austreng; brothers, Rodney and Mick; sister, Mary Lou; beloved wife, Donna Rae Austreng, son, Jeff, and infant son. Forever held in the hearts of his son, Greg; and daughter, Sue Austreng (Bill Hennes); grandchildren, Brandon, Hannah, Charlie, Tully, and Alyssa; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Grace, Kaia, and Hunter as well as many other relatives and friends. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." (Psalm 116.15)
