IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Warren E.
"Tiny" Lindeke
May 28, 1930 – January 11, 2022
Lindeke, Warren E. "Tiny" age 91 of Champlin. Warren grew up in N. St. Paul, but was a long-time resident of Champlin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Olga and Richard Lindeke; and brother, Richard (Dick) Lindeke. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 70 years, Jeanne (Pinky); children, Elizabeth (Ken Plzak) Lindeke, and Leigh Holman; grandchildren, Julia Lindeke and Preston Plzak; sister-in-law, Marlyce Lindeke; nephew, Dennis (Carol); niece, Debbie (Ed) Wildeman; and many other nieces, nephews, and friends. Tiny proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 through 1953. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Geological Engineering. He spent his career with Layne-MN Company. Layne drilled wells and supplied pumps and water treatment equipment to municipalities and businesses. They also drilled (and filled with cement) foundations for large buildings, bridges, and transmission line poles. When the company owner died, 4 of the salespeople bought it. In the early 80's, Tiny and Pinky became part of a group that bought 1000 acres of Western Anoka County from General Mills. A few had some experience developing land- but the rest had to learn more about real estate than they ever wanted to know. The result was Northfork at Ramsey-290 beautiful homes and a great golf course. Tiny was an avid outdoors man-who thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and going to the cabin. (His parent's retirement home). His favorite hunting trips were many years of moose hunting in Canada with the same group. They were do-it-yourself trips-they brought everything they needed. Fishing trips were part of two trips to Alaska in their 21 ft. Winnebago LaSharo motor home-complete with a freezer he filled with fish (mostly salmon) to take home. On a fishing only trip to Canada, he caught the 2nd biggest Northern in Ontario for the year. In 1986, he suffered a heart attack and had bypass surgery that made him think it was a good time to retire. Memorial Service Thursday, March 31st, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 1601 4th Ave. South Anoka. Visitation one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Samaritans Purse, Tunnels to Towers, or to the donors choice.
