Wanda Jolene Herold age 59 of Anoka died peacefully surrounded by her family on April 26, 2023. Wanda was born in Mobridge, South Dakota and moved to Champlin, Minnesota as a young girl. She graduated from Anoka High School where she met her husband, Timothy Herold. Wanda took business classes at St. Cloud State University after high school and then worked as a manager at the Anoka McDonald's. After that she moved on to Ameriprise, where she spent 35 years as a business analyst. She retired in October of 2018, which gave her the opportunity to work as a paraprofessional at Ramsey Elementary, the same school her daughter teaches at. Wanda's passions included travel, playing bingo and slots, trying new recipes, and music. She loved going to concerts and spending time with her loved ones. She was very protective of her family and would tell you her children and grandchild were her greatest gifts. Wanda was a bubbly, outgoing and caring person who loved laughing and cracking jokes. She was witty with an incredible memory and attention to detail. She enjoyed analyzing, learning, giving advice and listening. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Albin and Ruby Volk. She is survived by Tim, her husband of 32 years, her daughter Kayla (Lucas) Aho, her son Kyle, her grandson Micah Aho, and brothers Bryan (Kim) Volk, Jason Volk; sister Marsha (John) Anderson, sisters-in-law Tammy (Todd) Hiar and Tracy (Jeff) Richards; brother-in law Tom (Michelle) Herold and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 11 am at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 525 Jackson Street, Anoka. Visitation Wednesday May 10th from 5-8 pm at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, 2005 Branch Avenue, Anoka and also one hour prior to Mass on Thursday at the Church. Memorials preferred.
