Thompson, Vivian Fern age 81 of Bloomington, passed away Dec. 27, 2015. Vivian was born on November 25, 1934 in St. Francis, MN to Alfred and Ellen Thompson. She spent her grade school years at District 26, a one room school house. Vivian was graduated by St. Francis High School as Salutatorian of the Class of 1952. She then moved to Minneapolis where she took a job at Northwestern National Bank, now Wells Fargo Bank. Vivian was there for many years holding different positions in different areas. Along with working full time she cared for her invalid mother in her home for about 15 years, having a live-in caregiver who took care of her mother while she worked. After retiring from the bank in 1997, Vivian enjoyed doing volunteer work at her church and other organizations. Later on when her sister Ruby's health failed she spent much time assisting her in any way she could. Vivian's health began to fail a few years ago and we are so grateful for her friends and family who helped care for her. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Ellen Thompson, brothers, Paul and Lester Thompson, and sisters, Laura Thompson, Alma Nelson and Ruby Anderson. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Olive Thompson and Nancy Thompson and by many nieces and nephews.
