Virgil was a loving husband and father. He flourished in his career as a Librarian and Media Generalist at Falls High School. He spent many joyful hours fishing with his father on various lakes in the Metro, and with his family and friends on Rainy Lake, on the Canadian border. He will be deeply missed by those who were blessed to know him. Virgil Leo Knott age 88 of Andover passed away on June 8, 2026. He was born on December 11, 1937 in Minneapolis to Gustav & Agnes Knott. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Evelyn, Lester, Vivian and Gustav. Virgil is survived by his wife Gloria, daughters Jackie (Tim) Giving and Mary (Andrew) Casareto, grandson Jared and granddaughter Gabrielle. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 11 am at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 7633 161st Avenue, NW – Ramsey. Visitation one hour prior to Mass at the Church. Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
