Violet M. Reynolds, age 96 of Brooklyn Park, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.

Violet was born on the family farm in Grygla, MN and helped her parents and siblings with the daily chores.  She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at Valley Church.  She moved to Minneapolis when she was 18.

Violet married William John Reynolds in South Dakota on February 16, 1942.  Shortly after their marriage, William was called to serve in World War II.  Her first son, Vernon, was born one month after William left for war.  During the war, Violet lived with her mother-in-law.  Following the war, they lived in Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park where they raised four more children: Leslie, Victor, William Peter, and Sharon.

Violet was a homemaker and volunteered at school and church.  She worked at CEAP (Community Emergency Assistance Program) for about ten years.  She enjoyed sewing, canning, reading, family, friends, and church.

In addition to her parents, Peter and Carrie (Brevik) Levang, Violet was preceded in death by her husband, William; sons, Vernon, Leslie, and Victor; brothers and sisters, Ingvald P., Palmer, Christine, Ida, Clara, Pearl, Mabel, Ingvald L., and his twin who died shortly after birth.  She is survived by her children, William (Lucinda) and Sharon (Scott) Knutson; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; also many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Lutheran Church of the Triune God, 5827 Humboldt Avenue N., Brooklyn Center.  Visitation one hour prior to the service at church (10:00 - 11:00 a.m.)  Interment will take place in Champlin Cemetery, Champlin.
