Vicky Lou Uphoff age 70 of Oak Grove, MN passed away on October 25, 2021. Vicky was born on November 10, 1950 in Lanesboro, MN. She was the daughter of Donald and Lilas (Gehrke) Dalnes. She graduated from Murray High School in 1968 and attended Bemidji State University for one year.

She married Keith John Uphoff on June 17, 1972. They resided on the east side of  St. Paul, MN for most of their married life.  Vicky worked as a proofreader for West Publishing until her twin boys were born and then became an in-home daycare provider for the next several years.  When the boys were of school-age, Vicky started the next phase of her working years as a full-time employee at Borgstroms Pharmacy in St. Paul.  In addition, she began working part-time as a library clerk  at the St. Paul public library where she retired as a full-time library clerk in 2012.  Vicky moved to  Oak Grove, MN in order to be closer to her family and grandchildren.

Vicky was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.  She loved her family and spending time with  her six  beautiful  grandkids. She always went with the flow and seemed to never sweat the small things. She and Keith enjoyed many  road trips to Washington, to spend time with her parents, brothers and sister-in-laws, generally with a stop at Yellowstone National Park.  Following Keith's death in 2010, Vicky continued to travel by car, plane or train to spend a few weeks with her parents in Deerpark, WA.  Another favorite pastime with her family was fishing, especially Lake Shagawa in Ely, MN.  Vicky was driven by curiosity and imagination. She was known to plan her day around her favorite TV programs, feeding her kitty (Lucky) and reading on her ipad.  She was never afraid to laugh at herself when her family would share with others the funny things she would do or say.

Vicky is preceded in death by her husband, Keith and her parents, Donald and Lilas Dalnes.

She is survived by her three children, Eric (Rebecca) Uphoff of Oak Grove, MN, John (Kristi) Uphoff of Big Lake, MN and Amanda (Andy) Stoterau of Sioux Falls, SD;  six grandchildren, Elayna, Mikenna; Hailey (Ryan) Sinda, Timothy, Leah, Rexton and three brothers, Kurt (Kim) Dalnes of Minneapolis, MN, Jeffrey (Judy) Dalnes of Spokane, WA, Peter (Kathy) Dalnes of Elk, WA; along with many other loving family relatives and friends.

A visitation for Vicky will be held on Wednesday (11/3/2021) from 5-8 PM at Thurston-DeShaw Funeral Home, 13817 Jay St NW, Andover, MN followed by the funeral service and luncheon held on Thursday (11/4/2021) at 11 AM with a visitation one hour prior at Saron Lutheran Church, 311 Lake St. S, Big Lake.
