Obituary

Vicki Lee Cravens age 69 passed away August 8th, 2025 at the University of Minnesota Hospital. She resided in Andover Minnesota.

Vicki grew up in a loving family of six in the Cincinnati area and graduated with honors from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1982. She followed her husband to the Detroit area later that year. She became successful in local theater as an actress and director. While on cultural exchange trip to Bulgaria, she suffered a major medical emergency in 1988. She was able to overcome many of the obstacles that she was told she would not be able to do. This was with the help of family and friends. She was able to stay by herself, drive a car, have our adopted son return home, have a natural child birth, and go back to what she loved- teaching children. She again followed her husband in 2010 to the Minneapolis area. She worked several years in the local school district in the before and after school program for elementary children.

Vicki is survived by her husband Dave, her two sons Joseph and Jacob, her two grandchildren Noah and Indie, and her sister Debi Campbell.

Vicki loved to play all kind of games. She was very good at cards. She was an avid crossword puzzle and Sudoku user. Vicki was the kind of person you just wanted to be around. You felt better off just by knowing her. She was a very loving, kind, witty, and generous lady. She will be missed and I am forever grateful for knowing her.

Vicki was a follower of God. She would quote the serenity prayer all the time. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His will; that I may reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next. Amen.
