IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Verona Belle
Loven
September 5, 1934 – March 14, 2026
Verona (Langmade) Loven, 91, passed away on March 14, 2026. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 30 years, Clair. Also preceding her were her parents Merle and Marie Langmade, infant brothers Melvin and Calvin, very young sister Sonnia, and sisters Marvel Payne, and Loella Nass. She is survived by her children Dan (Mike) Loven-Crum, Suzanne (Greg) Demars, and Jay (Allison) Loven, and by her 9 beloved grandchildren. The Demars grandchildren are Joshua (finance Shae), Justin (Allison), Miranda, and Lilyana, and the Loven grandchildren are Autumn, Brandon, Cassandra, Emmalise, and Grant. She is also survived by sisters Janice Wefel, Karen Ingalls, and Linda (Owen) Davis and brothers Gary, Gerald (Eleanor), and Marv Langmade.
Verona was born on September 5, 1934, in the heart of the Great Depression. The 2nd of 13 kids, she grew up in Burns Township and developed a strong work ethic with her siblings picking "pickles" (cucumbers) to sell at the Minneapolis Farmers Market. She graduated from St. Francis High School and then moved to Minneapolis and worked as a secretary and stenographer for Jefferson Bus Lines. She met Clair at Minneapolis Gospel Tabernacle ("The Tab") and they married on October 19, 1963. They lived in south Minneapolis where their 3 children were born and then moved to Dayton, MN in 1972. Verona was a devoted mother who set an example of working hard, stretching every dollar, eating healthy, and following Jesus with all of her heart. She and her family were active members of Riverdale Church in Andover, MN.
Verona lost her husband Clair too soon back in 1994. After she sold the place in Dayton, she moved to a townhouse in Coon Rapids where she lived for 28 years. She loved to read, visit with friends and family, and she made it a priority to walk every day. In these later years, Verona's grandkids became her pride and joy. "Nana" made each of them feel very special and she prayed for them constantly. Verona spent the last year of her life at Cherrywood Advanced Living in Andover, MN where she received wonderful care by the staff.
Verona was a remarkable woman. She was full of grit and determination, yet a picture of grace. She rarely complained and saw the best in others. Her faith was unwavering, and she always had eyes to see God's intervention in the everyday. The list of those impacted by her prayers is very long. We who are close to her are so grateful for her love, acceptance, and Godly example.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026 at 10:30 am at Riverdale Church, 3210 Bunker Lake Boulevard, NW, Andover. Visitation one hour prior to services. Interment Oakview Cemetery, St. Francis.
