Preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Loretta Nelson; daughter, Denise Nelson; twin brother, Thomas Nelson; sister, Sandi Nelson; son-in-law, Kevin Burnette and brother-in-law, Ronald Pelto; parents-in-law, Donald and Clara Reitsma.

Survived by his wife of 61 years, Donna (nee Reitsma); daughters, Lori Burnette and Julianna (Richard) Thompson; grandchildren, Kyle (Sabrina), Zachary and Aaron Burnette; Grant (Payton) and Amelia Thompson; Clara Green, Jerell (Monica) Green; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Darlene (Dwayne) Stigsell, Karen (Mike) Haehn, Mary Pelto; brother-in-law, Martin Reitsma and many other loving family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11 AM with a visitation one hour prior to Mass at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 7633 161st Ave NW, Ramsey.
