Tari Ann Gardas, age 54 of Elk River, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at home.  She received her wings after a hard-fought battle with colon cancer.

Tari was born in Minneapolis on November 22, 1965.  Life was not always easy for her.  She was born with many developmental disabilities.  There were many challenges she faced on a daily basis.  Tari defied all odds and never complained.  She was a true fighter.  Tari enjoyed the last 12 years living in Elk River with her wonderful and loving Lavine family.  She was doted on and spoiled.  Tari enjoyed concerts, movies, music, shopping, massages, and pampering.  She had an infectious smile, one that could light up a room.  She also attended Options, Inc. in Big Lake.  She'll never know the love and impact she had on people's hearts.  We are privileged to have had her in our lives.  Tari was truly an amazing person who taught us more about life than we taught her.  God blessed us with an Angel.

Tari was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Dean Lutz and nephew, Corey.  She is survived by her parents, Ronald "Mike" and Kathleen Gardas; siblings, Sue (Mike) Herbst, Nancy Lutz, Ronald (Renee), Jeff (Lisa), Tim, and Jacki (Paul) Roberge; numerous nieces and nephews.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 11, 2020 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Oak Grove, with a public memorial celebration at a later date once restrictions are lifted.  Interment St. John the Baptist Cemetery, New Brighton.
