Carter, Sylvia D. age 91, of Anoka. Sylvia was always busy. Her hobbies included gardening, knitting, crocheting and cooking. She loved to dance and enjoyed the music of both Johnny Cash and Luciano Pavarotti. For many years she enjoyed traveling with her sister Martha Brinda. Sylvia was employed by Hoffman Engineering for 25 years and after retirement volunteered at Mercy Hospital. She was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church and Church Circle as well as president of her retirement club. Preceded in death by husband, Maurice; parents, Samuel and Catherine; 9 brothers and sisters. Survived by children, Don Carter, Maureen (Gary) Petrucci, Kate Carter and Pamela Schmelzer; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral services Thursday 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, 1601 4th Ave S., Anoka. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Visitation one hour prior to services only.
