IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shawn Dennis
Loger
October 19, 1967 – October 8, 2021
Shawn grew up primarily in Anoka County Minnesota and briefly in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He graduated from St. Francis High School in 1986 and worked at Beck's Amoco service station (Anoka, MN) while training in trauma medicine through Anoka Technical College, Iowa State, and Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI. He made lifelong friends while working hard in many capacities. He had a passion for helping others that was clearly shown in his work with emergency medical education, EMT work, and ER care. He truly loved his jobs with North Memorial EMS (Princeton and Milaca) and in the emergency departments at Mercy Hospital (Coon Rapids) and Fairview Hospital (Princeton). Having experienced cancer at a young age, patient care was his utmost priority and he worked diligently to lovingly care for all he could.
Shawn loved fishing, story-telling, traveling, hiking, music, meeting new people, nice clothes, big sandwiches, good cologne, watching documentaries, yelling at the Vikings games on TV, and helping to care for his nieces and nephews (including being the best-ever at holding and calming any baby). He was exceptionally generous with all he had. He was constantly helping others with projects, vehicle repairs, house and pet-sitting, providing hospice-care, estate planning, accompanying others while traveling, and cooking delicious dinners. He was especially concerned with making sure his mother and sisters were well taken care of and safe. He served and sacrificed continually for those he loved.
Shawn will be deeply missed by his parents, Bard and Linda Kallestad; siblings, Cory Loger, Lia (Mike) Laverty, Meagan (Elijah) Tennison, and Nalani Kallestad; Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, and many Friends. He was preceded in death by his father Dennis Loger, and grandparents Ada and Harlan Davis, Alvina and Leonard Kallestad, and Emil and Dorothy Loger.
*In lieu of monetary donations, please consider honoring Shawn's memory with an act of service.
