IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Severin Anton
Wanous
September 29, 1948 – December 30, 2024
Severin Anton Wanous (Sev), age 76, of Ramsey, MN, passed away and met Jesus peacefully, surrounded by family, on Monday December 30, 2024, after losing his fight with brain cancer.
Sev was born on September 29, 1948, in Pine City, MN, to Sev and Josephine Wanous. He was a loving brother to siblings Darwin Wanous, JoAnn Parvey, Marilyn Van Gieson, Sue Muecke and Gary Wanous. In 1967, Sev married his high school sweetheart Bonnie Feigum. Together they had five children, Bobbi Westerlund, Kari Revier, Connie Bullen, Christy Packard and Sev Wanous Jr. Sev was well known as one of the hardest workers around, owning an incredibly successful painting business for 35+ years, a trade Severin Jr. has continued.
In his free time, Sev was an incredible outdoorsman. There was no fish he couldn't catch or deer he couldn't shoot. He raised all of his children to be proficient hunters and fishers as well. The family spent many deer openers together on their land and hunting Bear Hill. If you ever had the honor of hunting or fishing with Sev, you knew the coffee was brewing by 2am and he'd be saying "daylight in the swamp". He took great honor in sharing his passion for the outdoors with everyone around him, teaching all of his sons-in-law to set up a drift and shoot a bow.
After the fish were cleaned and the deer was processed, Sev could be found with a stiff Bourbon and Diet Coke. He loved old country music from Jim Reeves, Keith Whitley and many others. He and Bonnie shared many quality trips to Grand Casino where he loved to win big on The One-Eyed Jacks.
As a man of God, Sev walked with Jesus. He is remembered singing "Jesus Loves Me, This I Know" so loudly the whole house could hear. He now sings it with hosts of angels in heaven.
Sev was preceded in death by his father Severin Wanous and mother Josephine Wanous, along with siblings Darwin and Karen Wanous, Joann and Charlie Parvey, daughter Connie Bullen, brother-in-law Harley Van Gieson and nephew Randy Van Gieson. He survived by his wife of 57 years, Bonnie Wanous, children Bobbi Westerlund, Kari (Larry) Revier, Christy Packard, Severin Wanous Jr. Eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, sisters Marilyn Van Gieson, Sue (Roger) Muecke, brother Gary Wanous and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
