Sandra A. "Sandy" Thorsen, age 71 of Anoka, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at St. Anthony Health and Rehab in St. Anthony.

Sandy was born on April 3, 1948 in Minneapolis to Donald and Lorraine (Bennett) Hostetler.  She graduated from Anoka High School and loved the city of Anoka so much that she lived there her entire life.  She was very involved with the community, especially the Blaine Royalty beauty pageants, and she was a fixture at the Anoka American Legion for the annual Halloween parade.  Sandy was a very giving person who especially loved her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Steven; and has since been joined by her brother, Mike "Hoss" Hostetler, who passed away on August 7, 2020.  She is survived by her son, David (Angela); grandchildren, Jozie and Jaxon; sisters, Linda (Steve) Sexton and Lisa (Brian) O'Donnell; sister-in-law, Condello Hostetler; also many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A Visitation will be held from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 2020 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, 2005 Branch Avenue, Anoka, followed by procession to St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 525 Jackson Street, Anoka, for the 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial.  There will be no visitation prior to Mass at church.  Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Anoka.

Per CDC guidelines, social distancing and the use of masks are required.
