Hutchinson, Sandra Kay (Schaber) Age 57 of Andover, died peacefully with family by her side on September 14th, 2016, after a 3 year battle with ALS. She was preceded in death by her parents Ken & Eunice Schaber. Survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Jerry, son Kyle, daughters Lindsey (Derrick) Theisen & Katie (Ben) Schmidt, beloved Grandchildren Riley, Alyssa, Jaxson and Ava. Sister, Vicki (Steve) Boerner, brothers Gregg (Sandy) Schaber and Scott (Colleen) Schaber and many in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews. She loved organizing family get togethers, cooking for her family and having game nights. Sandy grew up in Brooklyn Park and didn't move far from home when she was newly married to Jerry. They bought their first house in Anoka, and later moved to Andover when their family grew. Sandy had many jobs along the way, looking for new challenges. But found her greatest happiness in being a wife, mother, and Nana. She faithfully and joyfully served her church Mt Olive, and was a member for over 35 years. Sandy served the church in many ways, teaching Sunday School, starting the Hands for Christ Ministry, playing in the bell choir, being a part of the Care Ministry, and then later the Stephen Ministry. She was also a gifted flutist. When Sandy was diagnosed with ALS her faith came in full throttle, God never disappointed her. She attended many healing services but ultimately knew it was a win-win situation, because if she wasn't healed here on earth, she would be healed in Heaven. She never complained or stopped smiling. She was a caring friend and it showed as countless friend showed up day after day to visit with her, bring her licorice ice cream and help with anything she needed. She took every new challenge ALS brought her with grace and faith.
