Ruth June ( Ellefson ) LeNoue, age 98, passed away suddenly Nov. 24, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN. She was born on the family farm June 1, 1923, in Atherton Township to Martin & Minnie Ellefson . She graduated from Barnesville High School In 1941 and attended the School of Science in Wahpeton, ND. She married Vernon ( Dutch ) LeNoue, of Kent MN, in March of 1943. They had 3 children and were married 37 years before Vernon passed away in Feb. of 1980. Dutch and Ruth moved to the Anoka area in the early 1950's. Ruth worked 1 year at Gamble Skogmo in Mpls in the typing dept, 10 years at Ghostley's Poultry Farm as a secretary and retired in 1987 from Hoffman Engineering, where she worked for 22 years in the Secretary of Sales Dept. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post # 102 in Anoka, and also a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary # 9625 in Coon Rapids. She became a Gold Star Mother after losing her son, Cpl. Bruce V. LeNoue USMC in the Vietman War, March of 1967. From a teenager to her early 80's, her favorite pastime was dancing, whether a waltz, polka, schottische
or jitterbug, she was fun to watch gliding across the floor with her graceful partners. She loved reading, gardening, traveling and crocheting gifts for others. She also loved getting together with family and friends, which often involved cooking and baking delicious homemade meals, loved by all. She married Gerald LeNoue in March of 1989 and relocated to Delano, MN. After Gerald passed away in October of 2002, she returned to the Anoka area in 2003 and resided at the Farmstead of Andover until her death. She was preceded in death by son Cpl. Bruce V. LeNoue USMC, husband Vernon ( Dutch ) LeNoue, husband Gerald LeNoue, siblings Lillian, Florence, Hilda, Gordon, Rufin, grandson Brandon LeNoue and many sister and brother in laws. Survived by son Byron ( Linda ) LeNoue, daughter Roxann ( William ) Hintz. Step daughters Cherilyn (Felix) Lopez and Susan ( Phil ) Kranz. Grandchildren Dustin LeNoue, Nicholas Hintz, Andrea ( Mike ) Pendleton, step grandchildren Dathan ( Amber ) Brummer, Amanda ( Bo ) Onstott, Eliott ( Kim ) Kranz and Alex ( Kirstin ) Kranz. Great grandchildren Grant LeNoue, Owen and Ethan Pendleton, several step
great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Ruth is one of the sweetest and most generous people imaginable, she will be greatly missed, but will be in our hearts forever. Funeral services will be held on December 3, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. with visitation 1 hour before at Zion Lutheran Church, 1601 4 th Ave South, Anoka, MN. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Anoka. Lunch and fellowship will follow the burial at the Anoka American Legion Post #102.
