Rosemary Y. Martin, age 89 of Coon Rapids, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2020, seven days prior to her 90th birthday, at St. Therese - St. Odilia Care Center in Shoreview.

Rosemary was born on April 23, 1930 in Park Rapids, MN to Benedict and Dorothy (Flowers) Young.  She grew up on a farm in St. Peter, MN and later attended St. Catherine's University in St. Paul as a nursing student.  Rosemary had numerous friends and coworkers; she was a kind, honest person who never wanted to miss out on the fun.  The last 3 years of her life, she and David lived at The Homestead of Anoka and had a wonderful time.  She rarely missed her standing appointment at the beauty shop.  Rosemary passed away seven days prior to her 90th birthday.  She recently she said that she didn't want to be 90, claiming "that's too old."

In addition to her loving spouse of 64 years, David J. Martiin, Sr., Rosemary is survived by her children, David (Claudia) Martin, Shawn (John) Tholen, Barbara Martin, and Tom (Janene) Martin; grandchilden, Andy (Keely) Tholen and Emily Tholen; also many relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2020 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, 2005 Branch Avenue, Anoka.  Procession leaving the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. for the 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 525 Jackson Street, Anoka.  Private Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
