Gardas, Ronald M. "Mike" age 87 of Cedar. Mike was born March 31, 1935 in Minneapolis to John & Stella (Gacek) Gardas. He was the youngest of 10 children and was raised on the family farm in New Brighton. Mike met Kathleen Burke and they married on May 1, 1954 at St. Clemen's Church in Minneapolis and were married for 68 years. They lived in New Brighton for twenty years and raised seven children. Mike worked at Northern States Power as a maintenance engineer for 26 years and while working there Mike and Kathleen bought a dairy farm in Osceola, Wisconsin in 1978. They farmed there until 1988 before moving to Oak Grove, Minnesota. Mike was preceded in death by daughter Tari, grandson Corey, son-in-law Dean Lutz, parents John & Stella, siblings Walter, Lawrence, Wanda, Helen, John, Joseph, Anthony, Henry and Rosie. Survived by wife Kathleen, children Sue (Mike) Herbst, Nancy Lutz, Ronald (Renee), Jeff (Lisa), Tim and Jacki (Paul) Roberge, 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial Monday October 24, 2022 at 11 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:30 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 19921 Nightingale Street, NW, Oak Grove. Interment St. John's Cemetery, New Brighton. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
