Obituary

Roger was born on May 15 th , 1946 in Missouri to the Late Walter and Alvera "Al" (Bandemere) Streich. Roger grew up in Chaska, MN and graduated high school in 1964. While in high school he started a garage band with some of the guys from school and went on to win a contest and cut their very own record. While singing in his band he met the love of his life Darlene "Dar" (Kliber). They were married on June 19 th , 1967 and bought their first home in Coon Rapids. Roger became an apprentice working at a body shop in Blaine and went on to build his beloved body shop (Roger's Auto Body) in the city of Andover which he would call God's country. He also bought a home on Crooked Lake and spent many wonderful years there with his wife, children, grandchildren and many friends. Roger was a proud founding father of the community he helped create there. He supported many organizations for over 40 years. Some of which included baseball, softball, bowling and racing teams. When he wasn't at his shop he enjoyed many hobbies to include hunting, fishing, spearing, bowling, old time music, racing, cold beer, and being with his friends. Roger also spent many months taking flying lessons to earn himself a pilot's license for small engine planes. His love for traveling knew no end and has had many wonderful (and sometimes crazy) adventures over many parts of the country with the people he loved. Roger cherished all the people in his life and the time spent together with them whether it was playing cards, going on trips, or just plain talking at the shop. His life was filled with music, cars, adventures and laugher. A Celebration of Life will be held from 12 noon till 5 p.m. at Roger's Auto Body, 13530 Hanson Boulevard, N.W., Andover on Saturday, January 23, 2021. Roger is survived by his Loving wife of 53 years, Darlene; children, Tiffany (John) Zellner, and Todd (Jenny) Streich; grandchildren, Ashley (Jay) Schroeder, C.J. Zellner, Jordan Streich and Blaze Streich; great grandchildren, Emma and Rose Schroeder; Siblings, Larry (Julie) Streich, Douglas (Missy) Streich, and Mary Lou (John) Sobiech; along with many beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, family, friends, and lifelong buddies. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Alvera "Al" Streich; Brother's in- law Leonard "Lenny" Kliber, and Harvey Kliber, and niece, Janelle Pekula.
