Hofstad, Roger E. age 78 of Andover, MN died on September 2, 2022. Roger, son of Earl Arthur and AnnaMarie (Nelson) Hofstad, loving husband of Carol (Oakland) Hofstad, peacefully passed away in his home after a long battle with cancer.

Roger spent his first ten years of school in Starkweather, ND. He graduated from Cando ND High School before entering NDSU. He worked as a delivery person for a propane gas company in Fargo, ND and then from Northern Improvement doing road construction. Roger worked 33 years with BNSF as a machine operator. He retired in 2003. In 1978 he married Carol Oakland and they lived in Andover, MN until his death.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; son, Luke (Asmita), son, Jay (Mary) Hoffman from a previous marriage; brother, Gary (Joanne) Hofstad; grandchildren, Bailey Hoffman, Steven Hoffman, Trevor Hofstad, Arav Hoffstad, Asha Hofstad and Brianna Woltman; he also leaves behind nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws and a vast network of friends.

Roger served his country in Korea and was a lifetime member of the VFW. He will be remembered for his hobbies of mechanics, gardening and all of his tools and equipment. He dearly loved time with his grandchildren, nephew, niece and visiting with family and friends. He preceded in death by mother, AnnaMarie (Nelson) Hofstad; father, Earl Arthur Hofstad and son, Jason Ryan Hofstad. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Celebration of Life will be on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Thurston-DeShaw Funeral Home, 13817 Jay St. NW, Andover, MN 55304 from 4:00 PM 6:30 PM with a time of sharing at 6:00 PM.
