Obituary

Wekseth, Robert Lee Jr., age 79, of Champlin.  Bob was born October 20, 1943 in Moose Lake, Minnesota and  passed away peacefully at home with lots of family by his side on May 22, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wekseth, Sr., mother Anastasia and step-father Ray Juusola, granddaughter, Shae Lynne Zaudtke, mother-in-law Rosemary Petrowske, brother-in-law Richard Petrowske, sister-in-law Becky (Lonnie) Knutson and niece Jillian Wekseth.  Bob is survived by his loving wife Rosemarie "Ronii", daughter Leticia (Shaun) Zaudtke, sons Shane Wekseth and Shaun (Katie) Wekseth, 16 grandchildren Taylor (Jeremy), Zoey (Spencer),  Zachary, Tyler (Anna), Isabella (Dom), Nathan, Tristan, Daisy (Tristan), Jo Ruby (Hailey),  Lily, Summer, Ricky,  Nikolai, Taylor, Michael and Jenna, three great- grandchildren, Berkley, Elsie and Layken, brothers, Jim (Kari), Jon (Rosemary), Rick (Susan), sisters Phyllis (Carl) Ische  and Shirley (Dave) Schelling, brother and sister-in-law Jeff and Renee Engh,  numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.   Bob served in the US NAVY (1961-1964) and loved spending time with his grandkids, going to lots of their sporting events.  Bob loved watching the Vikings, Wild, Wolves, and Twins games. He loved playing cards, playing black jack, losing at fantasy football, riding his Harley back in the day and putting a couple of bucks on a football game from time to time.  Bob will be missed by all that knew him.  He left a legacy behind him, with kids and grandkids that got there or tried to get there to say goodbye as soon as they could when they heard Bob had a short time left.  We will miss you buddy!   Visitation Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 4-7 pm with a 6 pm time of sharing at Thurston -DeShaw Funeral Home, 13817 Jay Street, NW, Andover. Private interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
