Robert "Bob" VanSlyke was born on June 5, 1937 in Margie, MN and passed away at the age of 86 on October 6, 2023. He was a beloved husband and devoted father and grandfather

Bob grew up in the little town of Margie, MN and graduated from Little Falls High School. He worked with his father in the woods and on the railroad. He enjoyed working at Manders Gas Station. And Jim Young and his cousin Ester convinced him to come to the cities where he worked at Plastics Inc. for 25 years. Then he met his soon to be wife Eleanor and raised 2 children, JoAnn and Timothy. His last working career was for Tisco. Fishing, snowmobiling and travel we an integral part if his life. He loved to stop and talk with people along the way and made good friends. Amazing Grace was sung by the night nurse to lift him from this earth and into heaven  on October 6, 2023 at 9:05 pm.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Justina VanSlyke. He was survived by his wife of 56 years, Eleanor; daughter, JoAnn (Michale) Becker and their children, Benjamin and Brandon; and his son, Timothy (Sarah) and their daughters, Rachel and Rebecca.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday (10/23/2023) at North Heights Lutheran Church, 2701 Rice Street, Roseville at 11 AM with a visitation from 10 AM - 11 AM.
