Trossen, Robert J. age 87 of Andover, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John and his sister, Karleen. Bob was survived by his wife, Susan; children, David (Nancy), Melissa (Mike) Bolanda; grandchildren, Allyson (Ben) Mei, Jessica (Mike) Rawlings, Matthew Bolanda, Jacob (JoLinda) Bolanda, Nicholas Bolanda; great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Greyson, Miles,; brother, Jim (Crystal) along with many other loving relatives and friends.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Hollister, traveling throughout the Far East and South Pacific. After returning to Minnesota, he built a successful career through hard work and dedication. Following his training at Dunwoody Industrial Institute, he worked as a professional painter before serving as Chief Maintenance Painter for several Twin Cities hospitals, where he was respected for his skill, reliability, and strong work ethic.
Family was the center of Bob’s life. He shared more than 60 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Susan, and together they raised their two children, Dave and Melissa. They created countless memories camping, fishing, and traveling with their family. Bob was a proud grandfather to Allyson, Jessica, Matthew, Jacob, and Nicholas, and a loving great-grandfather to Lincoln, Greyson, and Miles. Nothing brought him more joy than being surrounded by the people he loved.
Bob’s greatest gift was the joy he brought to others. He was known for his incredible sense of humor, playful spirit, and quick wit that could make anyone laugh. Whether it was a perfectly timed joke, a playful tease, or a mischievous grin, Bob had a way of brightening every room he entered. His laughter was contagious, and he never missed an opportunity to make someone smile. More than anything, he will be remembered for the happiness he brought to family and friends. His love, kindness, and unforgettable sense of humor are the legacy that will live on in all who knew and loved him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 11 AM with a visitation one hour prior to Mass at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, 525 Jackson St, Anoka. Private Interment at a later date.
