Robert J. "Rob" Lucas, age 47 of Elk River, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Monday, November 20, 2017 after battling glioblastoma stage 4 brain cancer.

Rob was a student at Trinity Lutheran pre-school.  He attended St. Francis Elementary, Middle School, and graduated from St. Francis High School.  In school, he was active in baseball and football, and was also involved in Soderville Athletic baseball.

The greatest moment of Rob's life was when he and Joy married. They were blessed with 5 children: Jonathon, Joston, Jacadi, Jase, and Jaxson.  Rob was a proud father and absolutely adored his children.  He and Joy taught them how to be a great people, and they learned by their parents' example.

Rob loved the outdoors: hunting, summer and winter fishing, jet skiing, pontooning with friends, snowmobiling, and camping.  He also enjoyed entertaining and cooking for everyone.  Rob loved being surrounded by family and friends; he was loved by everyone.  It was obvious how much he was liked by his coworkers at TelCom as they stuck by him through his battle.

His battle was a tough one from the start.  Rob started the journey at Mayo Clinic of Rochester in July, then in August decided to have his radiation done in Coon Rapids to be close to home, near his children, family, and friends.

Please keep his children in your prayers and be there for them as they take the time to heal. Thank you to all of our family and friends for standing by us through these difficult days.

Rob was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Lynn Lucas; and father, James Robert Lucas.  He is survived by his sons, Jonathon (Natalie), Joston (Noelle), Jase, and Jaxson; daughter, Jacadi; mother, Lois (Don) Workman; step-mother, Michelle Lucas; sisters, Cindy (Pat) Decker, Terry (Mike) Petersen; mother and father-in-law, Jack and Shirley Havrilak; sister-in-law, Jill (Harold) Schuldt; brother-in-law, Jack Havrilak, Jr.; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Stephanie Ramacher; and special thanks to Molly Nielsen.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3812 229th Avenue NW, St. Francis.  Visitation 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Thurston-DeShaw Funeral Home, 13817 Jay Street NW, Andover and one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday (9:30 - 10:30 a.m.)  Graveside Service 2:30 p.m. at the Randall City Cemetery, Randall, MN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
