Robert "Bob" Rylander, age 86 of Andover, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home on Saturday, November 18, 2017.
Bob was raised in Shafer and Center City, MN, enjoying activities on the area lakes while he was growing up. He moved to the Twin Cities when he was 18 and worked for Earl Wielke Construction for 45 years. During this time, Bob and Sue built their house themselves, raising Dawn, Rob, and Amy, instilling the value of responsibility and a strong work ethic. After he retired, Bob worked for Northern Perennials until the age of 79. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, gardening, spending time in nature, and volunteering at church.
He was a quiet man, giving and selfless, whose love was never questioned. He led by example, treating everyone with kindness, and will be greatly missed by his family and those who knew him.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Sue; children; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Cedar United Methodist Church, 17541 Jefferson Street NE, Ham Lake. Visitation one hour prior to the service at church (10:00 - 11:00 a.m.) Private Interment.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Cedar United Methodist Church.
