Obituary

Ricky Lee Ostgard, age 64, of Coon Rapids, went to be with our Lord unexpectedly on April 22, 2024. Ricky was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Leroy and Emily Ostgard on October 6, 1959. He lived his life as a proud husband, father, grandfather and brother. On August 26, 1983 Ricky married the love of his life Tammy Jensrud and they began to build a beautiful life together. While living in Grand Forks they were blessed with two boys, Kyle and Casey. Shortly after Casey was born they made the move to Coon Rapids, Minnesota where they welcomed boy number 3, Cary. Ricky was a very devoted father to all the boys, whether it was coaching their baseball and hockey teams, taking them on family vacations or simply enjoying movies and sporting events. Ricky also made sure to set aside time for his wife Tammy. They enjoyed vacations to Florida, nights out seeing Arch Allies, spending time with friends and summer drives in the Mustang. When Ricky wasn't with his wife or boys you could find him on the ice playing hockey 2-3 nights a week with some of his closest friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Emily. Ricky is survived by his wife Tammy; children Kyle (Shayla), Casey (McKenzie), Cary (Vanessa); grandchildren Grayson, Watson, Easton; siblings Randy (Jamie) Ostgard, Michele (Henry Gutierrez) Ostgard, Ron Ostgard, Amanda (Eric) Austin; brother-in-law Troy (Tami) Jensrud, sister-in-law Tana (Keith) Minich, father-in-law Jack (Susan) Jensrud, many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service for Ricky will be held on Thursday, May 2nd at Constance Free Church, 16150 Crosstown Boulevard, NW, Andover. The service will begin at 11:00 am, with a visitation one hour prior, and a lunch following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to your local youth hockey association or the American Heart Association.
