Richard "Dick" Cotten, age 95 of Minneapolis, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at the Homestead of Anoka due to complications from a fall earlier this year.
Dick was born a fighter from the moment he entered the world as a 12-pound breech baby on April 2, 1922. He was a partner in Cottens NAPA Auto Parts since 1955 and enjoyed a wide range of interests including theater, politics, the outdoors, but mostly people.
Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Cotten; son, Richard Cotten; sisters, Mary Murphy and Margaret Sommer. He is survived by his sister, Phyllis Fahey; brother, Jerry (Helen) Cotten; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at the Church of the Ascension, 1723 Bryant Avenue N., Minneapolis. Visitation 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, 2005 Branch Avenue, Anoka, and 1/2 hour prior to Mass at church on Saturday (1:00 - 1:30 p.m.) Private Interment at St. Vincent's Cemetery, Osseo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
