Richard Raymond
Urbanski
Jul 4, 1933 — Oct 25, 2026
Anoka
Richard “Dick” Urbanski, 93, was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Marie, and their daughters, Renee (Don) Peter, Michelle (Eric) Ray, and Mary Beth McElmurry; and Brother in Law Joe Wryk.
Dick was a proud grandfather to Chelsea (Joe), Spencer (Karina), Austin, Miranda (Matt), Morgan, Jacob, Aaron, and Kayla (Brian), and a loving great-grandfather to Ivadel, Oliver, Beau, Avery, Kaycie, Briggs, and Baby Girl Peter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Patricia, Robert, and Judy; and his son-in- law, Ron McElmurry.
Born in Ohio, Dick moved to Minnesota in 1964 and called Coon Rapids, Andover, and Anoka home throughout the years. He was a hardworking and dedicated man who spent 45 years working at Cummins Diesel and another 26 years at Truax. His strong work ethic was evident throughout his life, as he didn’t finally retire until the remarkable age of 86.
While Dick took great pride in his work, his greatest joy was his family. He cherished time spent together, whether playing cards, taking family trips, or cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. His admiration of classic cars was prominent in looking around at the model cars displayed, cars he made, and the abundance of pics found of the classics. And, of course, no list of Dick’s favorite pastimes would be complete without mentioning his absolute favorite — casino time!
Dick also had a creative side and loved making wooden projects for his grandchildren. His clever, sometimes tricky Christmas gifts became a special part of family traditions, bringing laughter, surprises, and memories that will be treasured for years to come. Keeping his hands busy and his mind sharp, Dick always found ways to make the holidays a little more entertaining.
Dick leaves behind a legacy of hard work, creativity, family devotion, and countless cherished memories. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his spirit will live on through the generations of family he loved so dearly.
