Pappin, Richard H. Jr. age 83 of Anoka. Dick felt blessed to have been adopted by his loving parents. He graduated from Minneapolis Central High School in 1956, joined the US Navy after graduation and served active duty for two years and in the reserves for four years. He worked for Northwestern Bell in many roles for 30 years. After retirement Dick worked as a Safety Consultant at Associated General Contractors in Saint Paul. He volunteered with Loaves and Fishes and Habitat for Humanity. Dick was a founding member of the Skibo Northern Ponderosa. His positive attitude for life and his amazing disposition brought enjoyment to everyone he encountered. He was a great example of how to live life to the fullest. He loved his family and friends, spending time playing cribbage, building fishing rods, fishing, hunting at the shack and spending time with his loving wife of 45 years. They enjoyed traveling and spent winters in Arizona enjoying their grandkids and great-grandchildren. Everyone who met dad knew how special he was and will never forget his stories. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Richard, Sr. and Irene (Harthill) Pappin and sister, Mary Wegars. He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie (McLaughlin), sister, Judy Deslauriers, brother, William Pappin, children, Cheryl Johnson, James (Kelly) and Nancy (Bob) Furry, grandchildren, Jesse (Lori) Pappin, Danielle Furry, Anna (Dustin) Rosburg, Steve (Alex) Furry, Alicia (Justin) Johnson, Molly Pappin, Egan Pappin, Collin (Amanda) Lehman, Corey (Margaret) Lehman, great-grandchildren, Ruby, Ellie, Sawyer, Ryder, Breckyn, Brynlee, Frankie, Emmie and Josie, numerous nieces and nephews. Due to the Covid-19 situation private family services will be held with interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
