Talbot, Ralph W. "Buster" Age 86, lifelong resident of Anoka County, passed away on June 14, 2016. Preceded in death by wife, Kathryn Helen (Hall), parents, Ralph and Clare (Casey), siblings, Paul, Mary Jane (Barbour), John, Catherine (Clark), Jean (Corcoran), Patricia (Wilberg), and Clare (Fladland). Survived by children: Timothy (Rose), John, Thomas, Ralph, Patricia (Wayne) Hunt, and Paul (Lisa); grandchildren, Richard and Bryan (Tiffany) Talbot; Meaghan, Amanda and Ralph Hunt; and Michael and Lauren Talbot; great-grandchildren Camryn and Luke Talbot; many loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives and countless friends. Buster graduated from Anoka Senior High in 1947 and served in the US Army National Guard from 1951-52. He became a deputy of Anoka County in 1952 and was appointed Sheriff of Anoka County in 1960. He was elected Sheriff six times, retiring in 1986 as the longest serving Sheriff in Anoka County history. He was a lifetime member of St. Stephen's parish and was involved in many activities at church, in the community and in the Sheriff's Association. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The family is grateful to those who helped care for dad, with special thanks to Bibi Fields who offered dad such wonderful care. We are also grateful to the relatives and countless friends who called or stopped at the house to visit or play cards. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, 2005 Branch Ave., Anoka. A prayer service and a time for stories will begin at 6:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on June 20, 2016 at the Church of St. Stephen, 525 Jackson St., Anoka with a visitation at the church one hour prior. A private burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Anoka. In lieu of flowers, Buster preferred memorials to The Church of St. Stephen or the ACBC Emergency Food Shelf, 2615 9th Ave., South, Anoka.
