Penny Marie Mitchell, age 65 of Andover passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023. Penny was born on March 5, 1958 in southern Minnesota. Her family eventually made their way to Brooklyn Center where they settled and she graduated from Anoka High School in 1976. Penny married her husband Paul of over 40 years on October 25, 1980 and they had and raised one daughter, Nyssa. Penny worked in tech support for over 25 years where she enjoyed getting to know her clients and her co-workers. When she wasn't working, Penny was an avid quilter and crafter. She especially enjoyed making quilts and baby blankets for family and friends. You would often find her finishing up one of her blankets on her chair with one of her beloved dogs on her lap. Penny also enjoyed traveling with her husband Paul and spending time with her granddaughter Hadley. She was also a survivor of uterine cancer. Penny was preceded in death by her parents James and Louise Nasby; sister Terry Hill; sister in law Marjorie Schoon; parents in law Robert and Beverly Mitchell; and nephew Marcus Petersen. Penny is survived by her husband of over 40 years, Paul; daughter Nyssa (TJ) Vieau; brother Randy (Jennifer) Schoon, sisters Robin Nasby and Susan Johnson; granddaughter Hadley Vieau; In laws Mark (Donna) Mitchell, Chris Mitchell, Peter (Tammy) Mitchell and Ann (Dale) Petersen as well as many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 5 until 8 pm at Thurston-DeShaw Funeral Home, 13817 Jay Street, NW, Andover
