Peggy Giroux (née Ribbeck), age 78, born July 1, 1948, passed away on September 28, 2026, with her family by her side.

Peggy was baptized, confirmed, and married at Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Sumner, Iowa. She attended Sumner High School, Luther College, and the University of Iowa. On April 8, 1978, she married Roger Giroux.

A longtime resident of Champlin, Minnesota, Peggy devoted her career to education as a guidance counselor at Coon Rapids High School. She valued learning and took great pride in supporting her students.

Peggy was a proud Minnesotan, but also a proud Iowa Hawkeye. She maintained a lifelong loyalty to the University of Iowa, never missing an opportunity to cheer on her team. She loved to travel and was grateful for the lifelong friends who made those journeys especially meaningful and full of humor. Above all, Peggy cherished time with family and especially loved being with her grandchildren, Heraclius and August, affectionately known as Hera and Augie.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Robert Ribbeck.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Roger; daughters Katherine (Noah) Strom and Laura (Patrick Martin) Giroux; grandchildren Heraclius Strom and August Martin; brother William (Nancy) Ribbeck; nieces and nephews; and many lifelong friends.

A memorial service will be held on October 12, 2026, at Zion Lutheran Church in Anoka. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, and the service will follow at 11:00 AM, with a luncheon afterward.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the Anoka‑Hennepin Educational Foundation.
