Jopp, Paul G. age 74 of Ham Lake was called home when the Heavenly Father wrapped his arms around him on Christmas Day night. He graduated from Osseo High School in 1965 and was a competitive athlete in track doing the high & low hurdles, cross country and the horse in gymnastics. He went to art school and enjoyed drawing his favorite cartoons Peanuts & Garfield. He met his true love Lyn on a hayride and said it was love at first sight as he was smitten with her beautiful blonde hair and smile. They were married June 15, 1968 and raised their family in Ham Lake. Paul had an amazing work ethic and his employers said he was a model employee who was loved by all his coworkers. He worked hard physical jobs in the beverage industry as a pop, produce and beer driver for over 30 years. During his lifetime he was a blood donor and donated over 12 gallons of blood. Paul had a heart of gold and was a sweet, easy going, gentle, kind man who loved everyone and was loved by everyone. He was a very social man who always had a smile and enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved all animals, especially dogs and had 10 during his lifetime. He spent most of his time outdoors and loved summer and ice fishing, growing and sharing vegetables from his garden, walking his dogs and watching the birds in his backyard. He was a big sports fan of the MN Twins, Wild and Vikings. He was a huge music lover of all kinds of music and favorites were The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Eagles, George Strait, Brooks & Dunn, Garth Brooks and Alan Jackson. He loved to listen and dance to old time music and play his concertina and trumpet. He was a very loving and amazing dad, brother and friend and will be deeply missed by all. Paul is preceded in death by wife, Lyn; parents, Glenn and Marilyn. Survived by daughter, Jodi (Bruce) Almberg and son, Randy (Jenny) Jopp; brothers, Pete (Patricia), Perry (Marge) and Pat (Jill) Jopp; many nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends. Funeral services Wednesday (1/5/2022) 1 pm at Thurston-DeShaw Funeral Home, 13817 Jay St. NW, Andover. Visitation Tuesday (1/4/2022) from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and 1 hour prior to service. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Crystal. Arrangements entrusted to Thurston-DeShaw Funeral Home, Andover, 763-767-7373
