Patrick Michael Wimmer, age 61, of Coon Rapids, MN, passed away on April 28, 2022, peacefully at home.

Patrick was a loving father and grandfather. He was very proud to be called a father and grandfather, considering them his greatest accomplishments. He would talk about his family with anyone that would listen. Patrick was blessed to have one child, a daughter, just what he was hoping for. He never missed a single competition, or production his daughter was in.

While his daughter was in college, he made sure to keep up with her, so he had a standing date every month at the Nook in Saint Paul to catch up. Hearing any kind of news over the phone was not good enough. He had to hear it again in person so that he could give a great big papa bear hug. If you told him "I love you" he'd always say "I love you more" back. That's the kind of father he was.

If he wasn't spending time with his family, you could catch him fishing. No matter what time of year it was, he loved to be out on the lake. Even if he never got a nibble, he would call it a good day. Fishing is one of the things he would always talk about wanting to do with his grandchildren. He was especially excited when he found out it was a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Donald and Marnell Wimmer.

Patrick is survived by his Daughter, Brittany; Sister, Debra; Brothers, Michael, Gerald, and Thomas; Granddaughter, Skyler; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held for Patrick on Thursday, May 12 at 11am with a Visitation one hour prior, at Thurston-DeShaw Funeral Home in Andover, MN. Lunch to follow.
