Mavis Elaine
Youngs
December 17, 1936 – October 7, 2020
Youngs, Mavis Elaine (James) died peacefully in her sleep October 7, 2020 at Stoney River Assisted Living in Ramsey. She was born the 9th child to Grace (Hanson) James and Clyde James on December 17, 1936. She had 6 sisters and 4 brothers who always called her "Tooty". She married Donald Marvin Youngs, Sr. in 1955. They raised three children in Anoka, Donald Youngs, Jr., Mary (Lanny) Westphal and Charles (Mandy) Youngs. She was a long time member of Zion Lutheran Church in Anoka. She was preceded in death by Donald in 2015, her parents and 9 of her siblings. Mavis is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. She had 9 grandchildren to whom she was known as Grandma Tooty and 5 great-grandchildren who called her Grandma Cookie because she loved to bake them cookies! Mavis enjoyed spending time up north with friends and family going bass fishing, planting her flowers and enjoying nature from the porch at the cabin she and Don fostered for generations to come. She will be greatly missed. Her wishes were to be cremated and due to the COVID-19 Pandemic there will be no services. The family wishes to thank the staff at Stoney River for their great care.
