IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Matthew Arthur
Weikle
December 23, 2003 – June 14, 2023
Matthew Arthur Weikle, age 19, of Andover, Minnesota passed away on Wednesday June 14, 2023.
He was born on December 23, 2003, and came to his family and home at 2 weeks of age. From the very beginning, Matthew emanated strength and vibrancy, foreshadowing the man of substance he would become. With his bigger-than-life personality and authentic heart, Matthew lived all nineteen years of his life deeply loved by his family and friends. There was a very special and beautiful bond between Matthew and his pug, Marlow, and the dear old dog, Laura.
Matthew loved a well detailed car, open spaces, and the wind therapy he achieved when he rode his motorcycle. After graduating High School, Matthew set out and found his job at Fikes. He was a hard worker and pleased when there had been a job well done.
Matthew was known for putting others first and for accepting new people into his circles of friends. If we could measure a life not in years, but rather in experiences, in authentic and meaningful relationships, in the depths of human loneliness and grief, and in the exuberant joy of belonging, we would have to say that Matthew lived a full and meaningful life. Those of us who knew him and loved him are so thankful that we were along for his wild ride.
Matthew is a beloved son, brother, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Anna Besemer, and Ken and Delores Weikle.
He is loved and deeply missed by his parents, Pete and Anne Weikle; older brother, Will; aunts and uncles, Rosanne and Kevin Johnson, Lyle and Corie Besemer, Chris Jensen and Kevin Smith, Jocelyn and Jon Gerdts, Paul and Kari Weikle, Steve and Shelley Weikle, Owen and Maria Weikle, Mary and John Theil, and many dear cousins. He will also be deeply missed by his beloved circle of friends.
An evening visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 20th at Thurston-DeShaw Funeral Home from 5-8pm. His funeral services will be held the following day, June 21st at Grace Lutheran Church in Andover, and will begin at 2pm with a visitation one hour prior. Matthew will be buried at St. John's Cemetery in Winthrop on Thursday, June 22nd at 10:30am
