Mary Kay Schmidt, lovingly known as MK, was born on May 18, 1946, in Anoka, Minnesota. She departed this life on December 18, 2025, in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, leaving behind a legacy of love, music, and inspiration.

MK was a dedicated and highly respected professional voice teacher who made a significant impact in the Twin Cities area. Her expertise and passion for music nurtured the talents of many students, guiding them to reach their full potential. Her influence extended far beyond the classroom, as she instilled confidence and a love for music in all those fortunate enough to learn from her.

Mary Kay is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Larry, and their three sons: Matthew, who is partnered with Monica; Ryan, who is engaged to Lysa; and Timothy, who, along with his wife Denise, brought joy into her life with the blessings of her grandsons, Calvin and Joshua.

She joins in eternal rest with her beloved mother, Oneeta, who passed in 2009, her father Clarence, and her brothers Charles, Ronald, and Dallas. Mary Kay Schmidt will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family, her passion for teaching, and her profound love for music. Her spirit will continue to resonate through the lives of those she touched, and her memory will be cherished by many.
