Obituary

Mary M. Braucht, age 81 of Coon Rapids, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Walker Methodist Assisted Living in Anoka.

Mary was born on May 22, 1939 to Sheridan and Regina (Kemitsch) O'Keefe in St. Cloud, Minnesota.  She graduated from Anoka High School in the Class of 1957.  During her career, Mary worked as a health aide in the Anoka-Hennepin School District for over 20 years.  She and her husband, Donald, lived on the river and enjoyed pontoon rides with family and friends.  Mary was also an avid gardener.  She loved people and made friends easily with her outgoing personality.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; and brother, Joe.  She is survived by her children, Cynthia (Michael) Pipenhagen and Joseph (Vicki); grandchildren, Tarah (Adam) Fudge, Tyler (Jessica) Braucht, and Mary Pipenhagen; great-grandchildren, Summer, London, Salor, Rylen, Braylen, and Jack; siblings, Jerry (Mary Ann), Colleen (Darrell) Tilleskjor, Thomas (Holly) O'Keefe, and Cheryl Sjodin (Steve "Doc" Applebaum); also many other relatives and friends.

A Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2020, followed by a Private Funeral Service at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, 2005 Branch Avenue, Anoka.

Per CDC guidelines, social distancing and the use of masks are required.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hope 4 Youth ( www.hope4youthmn.org )
