Boege, Mary R. age 83 of Anoka died on February 15, 2026 of NUT carcinoma. Born October 16, 1942 in Decorah, Iowa to Leo Broghammer and Regina Knox Broghammer, Mary received a B.S. in Nursing from the College of St. Theresa in 1964. She married John Lauren Boege on August 28, 1965, moving to Anoka in 1966 and raising their family in Andover. Mary and John celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in August 2025. Mary served the Anoka area community throughout her career, in various nursing and management roles at Mercy Hospital, as a Clinical Instructor of Nursing at Anoka Ramsey Community College and with the Anoka County Department of Public Health. Mary and John have been loyal and active members of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church since 1966. Mary is survived by her beloved husband John, daughter Kathleen Boege, son Steven Boege (Lisa) and grandchildren Claire Boege and Nicholas Boege. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Regina Broghammer, and her sister Barbara Ann McCarty (Charles). Mass of Christian Burial Friday, February 27, 2026 at 11 am at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, 525 Jackson Street, Anoka. Visitation one hour prior to Mass at the church. Private interment Calvary Cemetery, Anoka. Mary’s family wishes to express their gratitude for the many expressions of support throughout her illness. In particular, they would like to thank the committed health care professionals at Mayo Clinic Oncology and the compassionate caregivers of St. Croix Hospice.
