Marilyn K. Luft, age 77 of Andover, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.

Marilyn graduated from Worthington, MN High School and attended Presentation School of Nursing in Sioux Falls, SD.  She spent the next couple of years working in hospitals in Worthington and Minneapolis.  Marilyn married Marlin Luft on December 2, 1961 in Worthington.  They moved to Minneapolis where Marilyn was employed doing office and cashier work.  She enjoyed working in flower gardens, genealogy, craft shows, playing bingo, and going to Twins games, but most of all, Marilyn loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Vincent and Coletta (Bruns) Tennessen, Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Marlin, and sister-in-law, Carol Tennessen.  She is survived by her children, Steven Luft, Mark Luft, and Monese Starr (Kevin); 5 granddaughters, 10 great-grandchildren, brothers, Mel Tennessen, Chuck Tennessen (Sonya), and Dan Tennessen (Becky); sisters, Elaine Houwen (Harry), Linda Curton (Mike), Verla Ring (Jeff), and Carleen Oelkers (Steve); and her two very special dogs, Bennie and Smokey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 19921 Nightingale Street NW, Cedar.  Visitation 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 10, 2018 at Thurston-DeShaw Funeral Home, 13817 Jay Street NW, Andover, and one hour prior to Mass at church on Tuesday (10:00 - 11:00 a.m.)  Interment St. Patrick Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to the American Lung Association.
