Obituary

Jaeger, Margaret Mary (nee Campion) age 91 of Anoka passed away peacefully on September 29, 2023. Margaret was born on September 15, 1932 to Claude and Mary (Kavanaugh) Campion and was the second of four children. She graduated from St. Margaret's High School in Minneapolis and attended the College of St. Teresa in Winona before marrying Donald F. Jaeger. Margaret and Don traveled to Japan with the U.S. Air Force and lived throughout the United States raising 8 children as they moved often for Don's career. She was devoted to her family, committed to her faith and always serving others. Margaret was known to many as "St. Margaret" – she lived her faith by example, always there to share her love and offer prayers for anyone in need. She was gentle, full of wisdom, confident and a true Matriarch to her family. And her smile and good humor were contagious. Margaret's calendar was constantly full – volunteering at St. Stephen's Catholic School, sharing coffee with friends, dinner invites, sports activities and birthday celebrations with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Don Jaeger (Debbie), Dave Jaeger (Theresa), Mary Krause (Bob), Rick Jaeger (Ethel), Dan Jaeger (Caroline), Meg Jaeger, Doug Jaeger (Laura) and daughter-in-law Joan Jaeger. Margaret is also survived by her sister Julie Humbeutel, step-sister Karen Cardy, 27 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don, son Dennis, brothers Mike and Marty, stepmother Evelyn, and grandson Patrick. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 11:00 am at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 525 Jackson Street, Anoka with visitation at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Anoka following a luncheon at St. Stephen's. Memorials can be made to Sharing and Caring Hands in Margaret's name.
