Lynne Elizabeth Putz

April 4, 1957 - January 24, 2019

Lynne Elizabeth Putz, age 61 of Andover, Minnesota passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 24, 2019.

Lynne was born on April 4, 1957 in St. Paul, MN. She graduated from Anoka High School in 1975 and then attended Anoka Ramsey College. She later transferred to Moorhead State University where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in health and physical education. She accepted a teaching assignment at Devils Lake, North Dakota where she met her future spouse, Kenneth Putz. They were married December 29, 1982 at Northwesten College, Roseville, MN.

They moved to Andover, Minnesota where they built a house and were blessed with four children within five years, Geoffrey Jonathan, Andrew William, Robert Douglas, and Stephanie Anna Elizabeth.

Lynne's love for her Lord and teaching drew her to seek employment with Meadow Creek Christian School (now Legacy Christian Academy). She began her lengthy teaching career there on August 10, 1994 and continued her teaching career with LCA until her death on January 24, 2019, a span of 25 years. Lynne's passion was always toward encouraging children and young people who needed that extra help for their academic success. Besides providing structure for their success in the classroom, she modeled a Christ-like walk and was an encouragement to many.

Lynne also taught Sunday school at Galilee Baptist (Centenial, MN), Elim Baptist (Anoka, MN), Elim Baptist (Isanti) and Meadow Creek (Andover, MN) where she and her husband currently attend.

Lynne served as a girls' soccer coach and was an overall encourager to youth in all sports.

When there was a minute to fill in her life of family, friends, church and school, she enjoyed crafts and quilting. Many new friendships were cemented with a marathon efforts on last minute quilts for graduations.

Lynne is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years, Kenneth; children, Geoffrey (Eling) Putz, Andrew Putz (Megan), Robert (Kristine) Putz and Stephanie Putz; grandchildren, Wyatt, Scarlett and Hawkin; mother, Virginia Gilbert; brothers, Stephen (Carol) Gilbert and Bruce (Judy) Gilbert. She was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Gilbert.

A Public Visitation will be held Friday (2/1/2019) from 5-8 PM at Thurston-DeShaw Funeral Home, 13817 Jay St. NW, Andover. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday (2/2/2019) at 11 AM with a visitation one hour prior to service at Meadow Creek Church, 3037 Bunker Lake Blvd NW, Andover.
