Lyle Anderson of Ramsey passed away at home on Saturday, Nov 2, 2024 at the age of 79 after battling cancer for many years. He was born in Milaca on Sept 12, 1945. His parents were Reuben and Ella (Hamann) and his two older brothers were Gordan and Roger. In September 1969 he was united in marriage to Jerene (Wollum). His three children are Linnea, Kirsten (Mark) and Brendan. His grandchildren are Justen, Cole, Caden and Amelia.

He grew up on the family farm in Princeton where he attended country school until 8th grade and graduated from Princeton HS in 1963. In high school, he was "the guy who is always running" .... he went to state with both cross country and track. After high school he volunteered for the Marine Corps and was honorably discharged after six years. He was a fleet driver for the Star Tribune for 31 years before retiring in 2007. He always loved cars, especially fast ones! He enjoyed drag races and car shows .... big, like Back to the 50s, or a small show at a senior living facility.

Lyle spent many years building his 1938 Chevrolet which was nominated as MSRA Car of the Year in both 2017 and 2023. He was a long- standing member of MSRA, NSRA, Chevys Best and GSTA Strokers. His social calendar was full of time spent with friends almost every day of the week! He also loved rock music, especially the Rolling Stones. Fortunately, he did get to a few of their concerts and enjoyed every minute. Because of his love for the Stones and cars, the family asks that you feel free to dress casual for his service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Meals on Wheels and More of Anoka County or the MSRA Scholarship Fund. Services for Lyle will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at Zion Lutheran Church, 1601 Fourth Avenue in Anoka. Visitation will be an hour before.
