Obituary

Lowella Darlene Wold (Kallevig)

Lowella Darlene Wold was born in Willmar, Minnesota (Kandiyohi County). Raised on her family’s farm, she moved with her family to the city of Willmar as a teenager. Lou graduated from Willmar Senior High School in 1957 and later attended North Central University (NCU).

In 1960, Lou married Wes Wold. While Wes studied pastoral studies at NCU, Lou served as the administrative secretary to the University President. After pastoring churches in Iowa and Wisconsin and welcoming their two sons, Scott and Todd, Wes and Lou returned to Minnesota in 1973 to lead Mount Olivet Assembly of God Church in Apple Valley. Throughout their years of ministry, Lou was deeply involved in music evangelism, church choral groups, Bible studies, and women’s ministries.

Professionally, Lou served as the administrative secretary to the Chief Financial Officer of NCU until 1977. She then joined the Rosemount–Apple Valley–Eagan School District as the administrative secretary to the Comptroller, a role she held until her retirement in 2004. In their retirement years, Lou and Wes enjoyed traveling, spending winters as "snowbirds" in Phoenix and Florida and continuing their lifelong commitment to church ministry.

Lou was the daughter of Severin and Matilda (Mattie) Kallevig. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Fern, Alice, Eunice, Omer, Marlin, Donald, Lowell, and Ruth.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Wes; her sons, Scott (Joyce) and Todd (Dawnshelle); and her seven beloved grandchildren: Brandon, Cameron, Allison, Weston, Emma, Ethan, and Everett; and great grandchildren, Flora and Ada (Brandon).

Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
