Louis Job, Jr., age 80 of Anoka, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 10, 2017, following a short hike with his son along the Cascade River on the North Shore of Lake Superior near Grand Marais, Minnesota.
Louie was born on January 3, 1937, to Lydia Marzolf and Louis Job, Sr., in Jamestown, North Dakota, one of eight children. Louie attended high school in Jamestown and graduated from Jamestown College. He was naturally athletic and excelled in a variety of organized sports while in school, including football. He served in the North Dakota National Guard and was a state boxing champion. He married Kathleen "Kay" Carlson and they had two children. He earned a master's degree and worked as a coach and educator until the early 1970s. In 1975, Louie became a certified Physician Assistant in Ohio and worked in that profession in Iowa and Minnesota until his retirement in 2012.
Louie loved the outdoors, enjoyed baking, woodworking and sports, and looked forward to attending class reunions in Jamestown on an annual basis.
Louie was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley; brothers, Luvern and Gary; and nephew, Robert. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kay; son, Jim; daughter, Tara (Larry) Shomion; grandson, Lawson; sisters, Betty (Marion) McPherson and Gayle (Ted) Procko; and brothers, John Job and David (Ann) Job; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 18, 2017, at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, 2005 Branch Avenue, Anoka. Visitation one hour prior to the service (1:00 - 2:00 p.m.) Private Interment.
