Leonette "Nettie" (Theisen) Pastoors July 21,1937- Dec.10,2023
We are saddened to share with you the passing of our wonderful Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother.
Nettie was born and raised in Cold Spring, MN to Leo and Augusta (Grundhoefer) Theisen. She was the last little addition to a family of 8 children, and growing up, they all helped the family run the grocery store and the corner bar in town. After graduating from St. Boniface HS, she decided to venture to the twin cities with a couple of life long friends and got a job in account receivables at Northwestern Bell. This would be the beginning of the rest of her life. It was 65 years ago, on January 3rd,1959 that Jerry called Nettie from the boarding house across the street and asked her if she wanted to ride to Church with him, and of course she did. They went to St. Olaf for Mass and afterwards, they went for breakfast at the Curtis Hotel. And the rest is blissful history. They were married in April of 1961 and raised their family in Crystal, MN where they lived for 40 yrs., and then retired with Jerry, to their Weston Woods Community in Anoka, MN., where they were able to celebrate 49 yrs together. Over her lifetime of 86 yrs., all who met Nettie, were greeted with her beautiful smile that made her eyes sparkle. She was the epitome of a Faithful Christian Woman, Wife and Mother and is a 24 yr Breast Cancer Survivor. She was so Wonderfully Hand-Made to be a Mom, and she would tell you that her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren were her biggest accomplishment and her greatest joy in life. Nettie was survived by Children Pat & Betsy Pastoors, Pam Wagner, and Polly & Keith Osman. Grandchildren Tim Pastoors, Ted & Megan Pastoors, Tony & Emily Pastoors, Traci & Andy Bennington, Jake & Emily Wagner, Tyler Wagner, and Drew Osman. Her biggest blessing came from her 6 Great-GrandDaughters, Mila, Poppy, Charli, Kiley, Adi, and Wynn; brother, Wally Theisen; sister-in-law, Carrie Theisen. We are comforted knowing that singing at the Heavenly Gates to greet her were her Mom & Dad, 6 of her siblings, along with 5 brothers in law, 3 sisters in law, 4 nieces, 3 nephews and the love of her life, Jerry. We know They are fully Celebrating their reunion and cradling their Beautiful GreatGranddaughter Dagny Wagner. Now that is a Heavenly sight to see.
Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Anoka on Friday January 5th at 11am, gathering from 10:00-11:00 prior to Mass at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials are preferred for Nettie's Christian Education charities.
